Below is a link to a real nice article that was in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette about our Wildflowers and Cancer Research fund raising. I hope you find it interesting, I know I did!

Here is a picture from mid June, 08. The tall flowers are volunteers from last year and sprouted rather quickly for some fast color. Notice the shorter plants in front, they are this years.

As the summer rolled in, so did the blooms! We expanded the beds this year to double the previous size. And the results were stunning. The Wildflowers were so thick and lush all year long and provided a beautiful distraction for the entire neighborhood.

Here is a beautiful patch of Cosmos that we planted from seeds collected at the AutoCare in 2007. They were planted at our 82 acre retreat in the country. The Cosmos seeds are so easy to collect, and the fantastic results made it all worthwhile - recycling at its finest!

We mixed wildflower seeds in with our food plots for extra color and fun. This 3/4 acre plot provided food and cover for deer, turkey, pheasant, and a host of song birds. Not to mention many hours of enjoyment for me and Lisa. Every Saturday morning, when I would go for a walk at our country property, Lisa would receive a gorgeous bouquet of mixed wildflowers that would last all week long.

This is our driveway in the country, a 500' long path of yellow and orange brilliance. All this from seed we gathered at our AutoCare patch!
Here's a couple of pictures from one of our Wildflower enthusiasts - Kelly Sobczac. She planted the Cut Flower Mix.
This is the only picture I could find from early summer 2006.
